This table is a small but beautiful piece of history. It is a representation of the European allied troops of World War I; France, Belgium, Russia, and Italy. They each stand sentinel as a post on the legs.

The original marble, a rich red stone with white veins, complements the warm wood tones.

My great-grandfather was a soldier, stationed in France during this war. I have recently been learning more about his experience there. I discovered that his job was to lay the telegraph lines along the trenches so that communications could be sent quickly down the line. I am truly grateful for his courage and bravery.
